For me, real estate has never been just about opening doors, writing offers, and putting a sign in front of a house.
For more than 15 years, I have spent my professional life inside buildings.
As a real estate professional, home inspector, and licensed water and mold restoration contractor, I have had the opportunity to see properties from many different perspectives. I inspect everything from single family homes to large commercial buildings, and on an average working day, I may walk through two or more properties.
That experience adds up.
I have seen beautiful homes with serious problems hidden behind the walls. I have seen properties that looked intimidating but needed only the right improvements to completely change their appeal. I have listened to buyers, sellers, contractors, property owners, and other real estate professionals describe problems and solutions that you simply cannot learn from a real estate textbook.
After thousands of property visits and more than 15 years in the business, I bring that experience with me every time I represent a client.
If You’re Selling
Selling a home is not only about putting it on the market. Relationships, presentation, pricing, and knowing where to focus your attention matter.
Over the years, my inspection and real estate work has allowed me to build relationships with agents and professionals throughout Southern California. That network can be extremely valuable when it is time to introduce your property to the market.
If your home is already in excellent condition, my job is to help position it properly and get it in front of the right people.
If your property needs attention, that is where my construction and inspection experience becomes especially valuable. I can help identify where improvements may make a meaningful difference and where spending money may not be necessary.
Sometimes you do not need to change everything.
You just need to know where to touch the property to make the magic happen.
If You’re Buying
For a buyer, one thing matters more than almost anything else:
Buy the right home.
A beautiful kitchen, fresh paint, and new flooring can make a property look wonderful. But they do not tell you what is happening with the foundation, roof, plumbing, electrical system, drainage, moisture, structure, or the many other components that can affect a property.
My background allows me to look at real estate differently.
I am not only looking at whether a house is beautiful. I am looking at how the house was built, how it has been maintained, what may require attention, and what you should understand before making one of the largest purchases of your life.
Choose an agent who knows the difference between bricks and drywall, concrete and dirt, and cosmetic improvements and potentially expensive problems.
Financing Matters Too
I also work with experienced lenders who can help my clients compare financing options and understand the numbers behind their purchase.
But I do not simply introduce you to a lender and disappear.
I stay involved.
Over the years, I have seen good lending experiences and bad ones. I have seen unnecessary fees, poor communication, and situations where buyers did not fully understand what they were paying for.
While your lender handles the financing, I continue looking out for the real estate side of the transaction and encourage my clients to ask questions, compare costs, and understand what they are signing.
More Than a Real Estate Agent
Outside of real estate, I am also the author of Beyond the Borders, a memoir about my personal journey, perseverance, family, and building a new life.
That experience reinforced something I have always believed:
People remember how you treat them.
Whether I am inspecting a building, helping someone buy their first home, preparing a property for sale, or representing a longtime client, my goal is the same: treat people with respect, tell them what I genuinely believe, and do everything I reasonably can to leave them satisfied with the decision they made.
